Spring Tryouts for our development teams concluded in late-January. If you are interested in joining one of our teams mid-season, please reach out to victoria@pcusc.org with the following information and we will connect you with your player's age-group's Head Coach who can confirm if they have any spots currently open.

Players birth date (including year)
Are they currently enrolled with another competitive soccer club? If so, we are required by league recruiting rules to request permission from their current club prior to responding to your message.
If we do have a spot available, we'll help get your player registered for a tryout and have them attend one of the the team's regular training sessions as an evaluation. Please note, each age-group's tryout registration must be opened manually by a member of our staff. Victoria will confirm your registration window once the tryout is coordinated. There is $35 late-registration, non-refundable fee to tryout at our club . Player's pro-rated team fees for the season are due once they are offered a spot following tryouts (season fee: $400).

How does the YDP tryout process work?
Our coaches will get to know your player's focus, listening skills and ability to participate as part of a team through fun activities and games. In general, players regardless of technical skills will be offered a spot on a team. This is a great opportunity to get your child active and engaged with other player's their age!
If your player is offered a spot on a team, you will receive a club invitation from SportsConnect within 24 hours of your player's tryout date. Families have 48 hours from the time invites are sent to accept/decline.
A $295 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your player's roster spot during registration. The remaining balance of $105 is due by 3/10 if you select a payment plan during check-out. Financial aid is available for qualifying families and can cover up to 50% of player's season fees. Please email victoria@pcusc.org to apply.
Players who have registered for the season will start training Wednesday, January 29th. Training sessions are M/W, 6-7pm at Buckman Field through May 1. Coaches will created game-day rosters and players will participate in OYSA’s 4v4 or 7v7 Development League on Sundays, March-April at Delta Park or Portland Christian HS. Official game schedule released by the league in late-February.
Tryouts for the following season (Summer/Fall 2025) will be held in May.

Day-of Tryout Instructions
Tip #1: View Parking & Directions
Directions: All tryouts are held at Buckman Field Complex (300 NE 12th Ave, Portland).
Parking: Please give yourself enough time to find a spot and walk to the field. There is only street parking available at this facility. Entrances are noted on the field map below.
Tip #2: Come Prepared
Please wear weather appropriate soccer attire, cleats and shinguards.
We ask that players do not wear PCU or other club's uniforms to tryouts.
Players should bring a ball (with players name + phone number, legible in sharpie) and a water bottle. The lost & found is located in our club-house if something is misplaced during tryouts
Tip #3: Arrive 10-15 Minutes Early to Check-In
Families are welcome to accompany their player to their field but are permitted to watch tryouts from outside the track only (not on the turf please). Please plan to connect with the Head Coach a few minutes before the session starts to introduce yourself.

We encourage players during warm-ups, to introduce themselves or ask someone to pass or juggle. Communicate during the game play, tell a teammate "nice pass, good tackle," etc.
Tip #5: Most Importantly––Remember, Have fun!
You will make mistakes, everyone does, it's okay to make mistakes! Showing how you respond to those mistakes is what matters more. Listen, but don't be afraid to ask questions.

U10-14 Spring Technical Skills Development Academy
2015-2011 players of all abilities welcome! The Supplemental Skills Training Sessions are open to 2015-2011 (U10-14) players looking to improve their technical skills including dribbling, passing, receiving and shooting. All sessions are held on PCU's new outdoor futsal courts at Portland Christian High School with a focus on facilitating ball mastery and tactical application in game situations.
10, one-hour sessions, once a week on either Monday or Tuesday from 2/3 - 4/15, see schedule below. There are no sessions during Spring Break (March 24th/25th)

Cost: $195 ($25 late fee after 1/27)
